How TeideBid works
An auction between neighbours, from the north of the island to the south. Listing costs nothing, and we only make money when you actually sell.
Selling
Take photos, write an honest description, pick a starting price and how long the auction runs (1 to 10 days). Choose how you get paid: cash on collection, card online, or both. Most of the island prefers cash and collection in person, and that works beautifully here.
While the auction runs, anyone can ask you public questions on the listing. Answer them: listings with good answers get more bids.
Offering delivery is optional and covers Tenerife only. Set a delivery price on the listing (or leave it free); if the winner chooses delivery it is added to what they pay — in cash at handover, or on top of the card payment. TeideBid takes no cut of the delivery charge.
Bidding and winning
Bidding is free, and every bid is a commitment to buy. If someone outbids you, you will see it straight away and can bid again. When the clock runs out, the highest bid wins.
Until the auction ends and the winner confirms the purchase, buyer and seller cannot see each other’s contact details: there are only the public questions. That keeps the playing field level.
Fees, plain and in writing
Cash on collection sale
Free. The seller keeps 100%
No fees for anyone: not the buyer, not the seller. The winner confirms the purchase online at no cost, which reserves the item and opens up the seller’s contact details, then pays the full hammer price in cash at collection.
Example: a bike hammers at €45. The winner confirms online for free, then hands over €45 in cash at collection. That is the whole deal.
Card payment sale
5% seller fee, capped at €50
The buyer pays the final price by card and the seller is paid through Stripe. If something goes wrong, the seller can refund the buyer in one click from the order page, and card protection covers you throughout. Our fee (5%, minimum €0.50, capped at €50) comes off automatically. No invoices, no surprises.
Payouts land in your bank automatically through Stripe. New sellers are paid after 7 days; the better your badge, the sooner the money arrives (Teide Legends get Stripe’s fastest schedule).

Payout speeds apply as fast as Stripe allows for your account.
Ratings, both ways
After every sale, the buyer rates the seller and the seller rates the buyer, the same way a lift-sharing app works. Turning up on time, paying without fuss and describing things honestly all build your reputation on the island.
Badges do the rest: the more sales you complete, the lower your online fee and the more your listings stand out.
If something goes wrong
Use “Report a problem” on the order page within 7 days of payment. The other side has 3 days to reply in the order chat, and most things are sorted right there. On card sales the seller can refund you in full with one click. If you cannot agree, TeideBid decides by reading the conversation, and new sellers’ takings are held for a few days precisely so refunds are always covered.
What is coming next
We are building TeideBid in stages. You can already browse, sell with photos, bid, ask questions, pay, and chat with the other side once you win. Sols (our sunshine currency for boosting listings) and shops with a name of their own are here now, and setting up your shop is free while TeideBid is new. Regulars get rewarded too: invite a neighbour and you both earn Sols, and badges from Local upwards bring a monthly bonus.
